Strange Goings-On in Old Strathcona
Right now, just across the street from my building, five young people are making a film. Two of the boys are dressed up in English bobby uniforms (with fake-looking blue hats), and the lone girl is in a purple flapper dress with pearls. One guy, who I assume is the director, is looking sharp in a light brown sweater and grey slacks, and the cameraman (the only one who looks remotely 21st-Century) is wielding a VHS camera with two cardboard circles attached to the top, mimicking film cans. One of the police officers is running down the sidewalk towards the camera in a comical fashion, arms and legs flying all over the place; when he's done, he walks slowly back to his starting point, the director yells "Action!" and he runs back again. I have a strong desire to follow them around the city and become their official biographer.

I saw them too! I didn't stick around long enough to see the running and the flailing, though. Too bad.
