Now entering blackness

I am about to re-configure my new computer with my old hard-drive. I am not good with computers. My information processing life is either going to enter into a shiny new era, or crash, burn, and a-splode. Wish me luck, internetters.

That certainly was an adventure, wasn't it? Now I know some things for the next time I have to do something like this.

For one, never use Windows 2000 if you ever want to remove the sucker. You can't do it automagically, like you apparently can with XP.

For another, always try to uninstall crap before simply deleting it from your hard drive; it could stay on your Control Panel program list forever and a week.

For a third thing, you'd think they'd make computer cases easier to get into. Bastiches.

And finally, go through your computer crap at least once a year and remove all the junk that you haven't used in that time. It saves time at the end.

We didn't really either, Sylvana. We just kind of wrenched the machine open and hoped for the best. Worked out okay, though!

Stan, you're right about that Control Panel program list. FOREVER!

Oh and Doc, I'm so glad everything turned out alright. It's always traumatizing to have your computer in the Jebus' hands, if even for an hour.
